MID approved taximeters on sale in UK

All MID taximeters must have the M mark along with the year so a 2016 meter will have M16

and so on so a meter made in 2020 will have M20 this should be displayed where it can be seen.

but some have it on the side ot even the rear.

What to do if you are authority and are going to apply there rules (as you must).

You could do as London and only allow MID approved meters from late 2016 when the rule came into effect.

Or as others are doing telling their testing centers that if a vehicle turns up with a non MID meter to send it away to get an approved meter.

or carrying out checks at a rate change and giving vehicles without MID approved meters a set date to replace them with approved meters.

However its done authorities MUST have MID in their regulations.
